This Privacy Policy describes how the Calibre Access application (hereinafter referred to as the “Application”), developed by Aurélien Chevalier, handles your information.

Our fundamental principle is simple: your data belongs to you. The Application has been designed to ensure complete privacy and exclusively local processing of your files.

1. Data Collection and Processing

Calibre Access does not collect, store on any external server, or transmit any personal data.

The Application requires access to a folder of your choice (either local or on your iCloud Drive) to read the metadata.db file from your Calibre library. This access is:

2. Saving Folder Access

To avoid requiring you to select your folder every time you open the Application, the Application generates a security-scoped bookmark (“Security-Scoped Bookmark”). This bookmark is stored locally and securely in your device’s preferences (UserDefaults). It is never transmitted to third parties.

3. Sharing Information with Third Parties

The Application does not include any tracking tools, advertising, or third-party analytics SDKs. Therefore, no data is shared with third parties.

4. Data Security

All data accessed by the Application benefits from the native security protections provided by your device’s operating system. If you use a folder hosted on iCloud, synchronization is subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy.

5. Your Rights and Control Over Your Data

Since we do not collect any data on remote servers, you retain full control over your data:

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time (for example, if new features requiring additional permissions are introduced). Changes will take effect as soon as they are published on this page.
