Welcome to the Calibre Access support page. If you are experiencing an issue or have a question about using the app, you’re in the right place!
To display your books, the app needs access to your Calibre library folder:
metadata.db for the app to read your book information. If no books appear after selecting your folder, here are a few things to check:
metadata.db file.metadata.db file before it can display your books. This may take a few seconds depending on your internet connection. Wait a moment or refresh the list by pulling down on the screen. The app provides buttons for the available file formats (such as EPUB or PDF) below the author’s name. When you tap one of these formats, the app uses your device’s Quick Look feature to preview the file. If the format is supported by your system, the book will open directly.
The app saves secure access to your folder so you don’t have to select it every time. However, for security reasons imposed by the iOS/iPadOS system, this access may sometimes expire or be revoked. If your book list is empty when the app starts, simply tap the folder icon in the top-right corner to grant access again.
Yes. You can use the search bar at the top of the screen to find a book by its title or author’s name.
